Photos of the new 2006 model Impreza are starting to hit the Impreza related forums, with some people already mocking up propsed modifications to the looks. I'm still undecided about the front of the car, I'm going to reserve judgement until I see it for real, although initial impression from the photographs indicate it looks a little to fussy for my liking. One thing I do dislike is the spoiler that sits on top of the rear window, whether its functional or not, it looks like a halfords accessory thats been bolted on.

As with all things though, even if my initial instinct is to dislike it, after a while it will probably grow on me. I only have to look back at when the newage bugeye arrived and how much I disliked it (as did many others) at the time, but now I like it alot, especially with the HID projector lights fitted. In fact I would love to have an s202, one of my all time favourite Impreza's.

I think one thing we can be sure of with the new facelifted model, it will be more refined and have a better interior quality than the previosu generations. I know that looking at my own classic shape Impreza and comparing it to the 2005 model, the leap in interior quality is incredible. I can only assume that Subaru looked at what else was available on the market and realised that offering the public a fantastic engine and chassis with the interior of a 1980's nissan wasn't going to be enough to sell cars, so invested heavily in the interior production process.
