I posted yesterday about how I considered the name you give your blog can be a make-or-break choice, with badly choosen names resulting in less click throughs than a well choosen interesting sounding name.

When choosing the name for your blog (I know I didn't spend very long thinking about mine, I probably should have done) be aware that some names will be considered to infinge a companies copyright/trademark. The reason I bring this up is that I came across a case yesterday of a website forum that had used a concatenation of a companies product and its various brands in its domain name. Said forum then received a letter from the company, asking them to cease and desist using the name, all associated branding, colours etc. This thread explains it all in much more detail than I can, but it does leave me wondering where companies draw the line on use of their brand names on enthusiasts websites.

So if you ever wondered why its scoobyphotos and not subaruphotos, I guess the above explains it! I do know that subaru are aware of scoobyphotos.com, as there domain appeared in my weblogs on several ooccasions - I can only hope they were interested in the site, and not researching who to target next....
