Subaru Impreza WRX
Subaru WRX
The Subaru Impreza WRX is the name given to the current turbo charged base model Subaru Impreza. Originally Subaru used the WRX label on its domestic cars, badging the UK turbo charged Subaru Impreza the Turbo 2000 AWD. The origianl turbo charged Subaru Impreza (classic) was not available in the USA, that market receiving the 2.5RS model instead.
When Subaru launched the facelifted Impreza model in 2001, the use of the WRX badge became global, and is used to signify the base turbo charged Subaru Impreza model.
The WRX is used as the basis for the more powerful Subaru Impreza WRX STi, which produces around 45bhp more than the standard WRX.
